WR Logistics coordinated the transport of an Epiroc drilling rig from Sweden to Uzbekistan. The rig was disassembled into modules and moved by road across several borders, with winter routing measures and on-site reassembly coordination.

Modular disassembly and transport

The rig was prepared for transport by breaking it down into modules sized for road carriage. Out-of-gauge components were placed on two trailers and secured with engineered lashing to maintain integrity during transit. The combined weight of the modules was 36 tonnes.

Winter routing and contingency

Because the movement traversed regions prone to winter weather, the route plan included timing aligned with weather windows and contingency options for alternative corridors. Bridge and gradient checks were completed to avoid seasonal restrictions. WR Logistics worked with local partners to confirm road maintenance schedules and clearance times.

Cross-border coordination and permits

Permits were obtained for each country on the route. Escort teams accompanied the convoy at critical points and provided local traffic management where required. WR Logistics maintained central oversight to coordinate arrival times and ensure compliance with driving hour rules across borders.

Reassembly at destination

On arrival in Uzbekistan, the modules were positioned for reassembly. WR Logistics coordinated site access and verified lifting equipment availability so the receiving team could proceed with reassembly according to the project plan.
