WR Logistics is managing an overland move of seven hemispherical heads from Chuzhou, China to Atyrau, Kazakhstan for the Silleno Project. The corridor stretches roughly 7,400 kilometres and includes a planned transshipment at Khorgos.
Shipment composition and loading strategy
The seven units vary in size, with the largest piece measuring 5.61 metres in length and the heaviest unit weighing 24 tonnes. The whole shipment totals 150 tonnes. To keep loads stable and within axle limits, cargo is distributed across three specialised transport units, each configured to balance weight and minimise overhang.

Critical transshipment at Khorgos
Khorgos is a designated handover point where the cargo is transferred from Chinese flatbed trailers to Kazakh axle trailers. That changeover requires coordinated lifting, rigging and verification of trailer compatibility. WR Logistics plans the sequence of lifts and checks equipment interfaces to ensure the exchange proceeds efficiently within scheduled terminal windows.
Route engineering and compliance
Before departure, the corridor is surveyed for bridge capacities, slope gradients and turning radii. Permits for oversized cargo are obtained per jurisdiction and axle load calculations are verified against local rules. Escort teams lead the convoy through populated or constrained areas while a central control desk monitors progress and compliance.
Progress toward Atyrau
The movement is currently in progress toward Atyrau. WR Logistics continues to manage timing and coordination at each stage so the cargo can be handed over at site according to project requirements. Learn more about WR’s cross-border project logistics at https://wr.group/products/project-logistics
